| Events | Payouts page that shows event hosts when money arrives | Product design, Strategy | Consumer | |
PlotsPlots is a phone app for finding events and buying tickets, for hosts and their attendees. Payouts ran through Stripe, which the app hid once linked, so when Stripe paused a payout over a missing ID, hosts could not see why. I designed a Payouts page for all of a host’s events, with alerts that name the Stripe problem before a payout pauses. I defined three custom APIs with the engineers to pull the Stripe data into the app, and the page shipped with them. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
| Education | University campus app that puts the most-used screens first | App design, Research | Consumer | |
Stanford MobileStanford Mobile is the university’s campus app for first-year students and visitors: bus schedules, dining halls and events. People needed the information they used most, but it was buried, and planning a campus bus trip meant remembering details between screens. My redesign puts the home screen in order of use: health check and mobile ID first, then dining and transport, with events gathered at the bottom. I added defaults to the trip planner, which starts from the rider’s current location and will not confirm a trip without a destination. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
| Climate | Web platform where a whole company collects its ESG data | Product design, Design systems | Business | |
BaobabBaobab is a web platform where a whole company collects its environmental, social and governance (ESG) data, for the leaders and staff of smaller consumer brands. Brands need data behind their impact claims, but reporting usually falls on one consultant. Leaders assign team members to each impact area, so data entry is spread across the staff instead of falling on one person. I split areas into modules, then worksheets that share a layout and show progress. The interface is now used to track sustainability on residential construction projects. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
| Transit | Transit app that pairs students with a riding buddy | App design, Web design | Consumer | |
TangoTango is a phone app for big-city students that pairs up transit riders going the same way. Lone riders need company against harassment, but testers worried about finding a buddy in a busy station with no way to reach them. I matched riders on similar routes and gave each pair an in-app chat for meeting at the station, along with a way to ask for a new match. I designed every screen, from matching to rating a buddy at the end, and built the landing page myself. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
| Health | Phone app for caregivers of family with mental illness | Product design, Strategy | Consumer | |
MiSunshineMiSunshine is a phone app for caregivers in the Bay Area’s Chinese community who look after a family member with a mental illness. An app can do little for them, so every feature had to help without pretending to fix the illness. I kept the app small: a medication log with reminders, and notes that track the person’s progress over time. I added community events that go into the phone’s calendar, and tools for the caregiver’s own care and for emergencies. MiSunshine shipped to the app store with this short list of tools.
